About Rising Sun Shotokan Dojo

Rising Sun Shotokan Dojo has been a cornerstone of authentic Shotokan Karate training in Dhaka for over 12 years. Founded by Sensei Rahman Ahmed, a 4th Dan black belt with extensive training in Japan, our dojo is committed to preserving the traditional values and techniques of Shotokan while adapting to the needs of modern practitioners.

We believe that karate is more than physical training—it's a path to personal development, discipline, and respect. Our curriculum emphasizes the three pillars of karate: kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring), ensuring students develop a well-rounded skill set. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced martial artist, our structured programs cater to all levels and ages.

Our facility features a spacious 2,000 sq ft training hall with traditional wooden flooring, mirrors, and all necessary equipment. We maintain small class sizes to ensure personalized attention and proper technique development. As a fully accredited member of the Bangladesh Shotokan Karate-Do Association, we uphold the highest standards of instruction and safety.
